Gems Sensors Successful Partnership with Solidify in the US Prompts Them to Expand Solidify Solution to European Subsidiary.

Gems Sensors, a Danaher Company subsidiary, has expanded their website-based self-service product selection and configuration capabilities to their U.K subsidiary in Hampshire, England. Now, visitors to the Gems European website have the same interactive access to Solidify’s 24/7 BUSINESS™ guided product selection and configuration tools as do Gems’ North American users. Gems leveraged Solidify’s SaaS-based product selection platform to quickly create and launch their European eCatalog- and eConfigurator-based product selector containing the unique mix of products sold into their European markets. By adding 24/7 BUSINESS to their U.K. website, Gems now offers its European customers intuitive guidance to help them discover, evaluate, compare, select, and request customizations to the full line of Gems products sold in Europe. With one click, users can also request proposals for the products they placed in the product selector’s RFQ cart. The next phase will soon add Solidify’s automated sales quotation generator module and integrated sales order manager/reseller support portal, both of which are now up-and-running at Gems North America. The quotation generator is two-way integrated with the Gems’® CRM system and when sales quotes become approved sales orders, the Solidify Sales Order Manager will place orders directly into the Gems U.K. ERP system provided by Oracle®’s JD Edwards® (JDE). 24/7 BUSINESS also gives purchasers 24/7 real-time ability to check inventory status, prices and order status, regardless of how the order was initially processed into JDE. Other Danaher Company subsidiaries have taken note of Gems’ quick ROI gained from their Solidify investment, with Setra Sensing Solutions (Boxborough, MA) signing on with Solidify in mid-2011 to duplicate Gems Sensors eBusiness offering and soon to expand their 24/7 BUSINESS system into China.
